Hot And Sunny Florida!

It is so hot and sunny here in Naples, Florida.....we have degrees in the 90's!!! My family tells me that it is snowing on the mountains in the Cape in South Africa where the World Football (Soccer) Cup is hosted. We really have the two extremes between the northern and southern hemisphere. It feels to me that hardly anything growing outside right now can survive this Florida sun and heat. My poor lavender plant couldn't survive but I will share some photographs with you this week of plants that have survived and still thrive in this humidity and heat!

Incredible Beauty!

When I saw this I knew I had to share it with you all! These incredible beautiful trees are right in front of our home....and what a joy of life it has been to us! Our daughter said to me yesterday that these trees are so beautiful that she had to stand still and take time to take in all the beauty.

This tree is called the "Royal Poinciana tree" (Species name: Delonix regia) and is native to Madagascar. The most striking characteristic is its brightly colored flowers that range from bright red, to orange and even yellow.

Because of the bright colors of the flowers this tree is sometimes also called the "flame tree".

To All Women!

I know this coming Sunday is Mother's day but this post is for all the women out there! Many women do not have any children but precious pets they love and care for. There are those women who do not have pets but care for elderly people, the poor, sick and needy. I therefore dedicate this post to all women....thank you for all your love, care, patience and encouragement! I salute all of you!

Pearls And Flowers

There is something about pearls and flowers!

Pearls are a symbol of purity, honesty, integrity, innocence and faith to me, qualities that I value and try to emulate.

Flowers exude a symphony of scents and perfumes. I love closing my eyes and breathing in the rich aromas that they so freely give. I am also soothed by their beautiful lines, pure forms and deep colors!

Spring!

After a long and cold winter here in Florida......spring has arrived! I have decided to share some photographs with you of things I enjoyed these past few days! (Click on image to enlarge)

Delicious fresh berries...!! We had it for breakfast...I don't think I have ever had berries with CREAM for breakfast. (I like to do things that is not the normal...smile...)
